It's still raining today but at least we're not flooding like lots of folks. We're about on the top of a hill in one of the highest spots in the area. The small wet weather creek below our house is flowing better than I have seen in years. We have a spring dammed up just off to the side of the creek and the flow is usually very slow or stopped this time of year but even it is flowing through the spill pipe like mad. I don't know what it is about flowing water but I just can't resist it. I see the water flowing out of that pipe and my fingers are drawn to it like a magnet. I can't pass it by without putting my hands in the flow and feeling that cold spring water rush over them. Sometimes I get carried away and stick my arms in so far I wind up coming home with my shirt wet. I don't know why parents fuss about that? We say to our kids, "Now look, you went and got your clothes all wet playing in the creek!". So what, clothes dry. When I get my shirt wet it always somehow miracuously dries on my back in time, no harm done. Sometimes I'll let that cold water run over my arms until they ache from the temperature. I see my 6 year old daughter Becky doing the same things plus some I quit doing long ago because I think I'd look stupid doing them now but they still sure look like fun. So if you stop by the farm and my shirts wet it might not be sweat, but don't worry. it'll dry.
