It's been a while since I added an entry, we've been so busy lately with the corn, tomatoes and blackberries. I had someone come and pick blackberries the other day with rubber gloves on. I understand why they wanted to wear them but it still doesen't seem quite right to me. If your hands aren't stained purple then I think you missed a little of the experience. Kinda like eating a tomato sandwhich without Mayonaise. I guess it's better for you but why bother. Kids know how to enjoy picking. When they get done there's no doubt what they've been doing. Their hands, mouth, shirt and pants all bear the unmistakeable marks of someone who completely enjoyed themselves. I still can't pick blackberries without winding up with a black tounge and a stained shirt from rubbing my hands on it. I don't know the medical term for the reflex that causes a pickers hand to go involuntarily to their mouth when they have a especially juciy berry in it but I Know it's a strong reflex that rarely can be overcome. I guess medical science will have to work on it but till a solution can be found enjoy yourself.
