The weather sure is turning warm this week. After a frost scare earlier the temperatures are going up into the mid 80's or higher. This time of year we're prone to yo-yo temps and it's something you get used to.
The new chickens are growing well and should be ready to go into the chicken house pretty soon. The tomatoes are over a foot tall now and growing fast. If we don't get some more rain soon I'll have to start thinking about breaking out the pump and irrigation hose to start pumping from the spring. I sure would rather get rain. It's quite a job to lay out the lines and move the irrigation gun from spot to spot. With the price of gas going up so high this year it will cost a lot more to run the pump. Irrigation is nice but a good rain does wonders for things. There's just no substitute for rain.
