Well it finally got good and cold. Lows tonight are expected to be in the teens. I spent yesterday turning off the last of the outdoor spigots and draining the lines. I also have to get the woodstove in the shop going so Liz can put here dogs in there tonight. Stafforshire Bull Terriers are short haired dogs and can tkae cold pretty well but they appreciate the wood heated shop on a cold night.
All the winter prep should be done by this evening and if I'm lucky we won't have forgotten anything. Going out at 10PM at night to turn off a forgotten water line is no fun at all. The last of the leaves have fallen and as soon as the wind quits blowing we'll get them up. Leaf season lasts about 1 month and I'm always happy to get them gone. We had so many pumpkins and spaghetti squash left this year that we had to store them in the hay barn. That has worked well till this cold moved in and we had to move them to the shop or they would freeze.
