Mulching season has started here at rockfarm. For about a month I haul loads of mulch to the orchard rows and mulch them. I work at it on and off between other jobs. We do a lot of our work here that way. We'll go hard at one job for a while, then stop and work on another project and reurn later to work on the first one again. It reminds me of a story I once heard: A salesman was traveling to a city along a backroad one day. On the way he saw a farmer out plowing with his mule in the early morning light. After he had completed his buisiness in the city he traveled back home that evening along the same country road. He was amazed to see the same farmer still out plowing with the mule. He stopped the car, and when the farmer got to the end of the row the salesman said,"Sir, I saw you out plowing this morning and you are still at it. Did you really ploww all day long?" "No Sir" the farmer replied, "You see, after a while plowing tires me out but then I go and hoe a bit and it rests me." I agree with this and many's the time changing up jobs for a bit, "rests me"
