We've been putting out mulch all this week. We load up a trailer with mulch and put it out down the orchard rows with a pitch fork. Each row takes about 3/4 ton of mulch so by the time were done we put out about 15 to 20 tons of mulch. I don't know how many fork fulls of mulch that comes out to but it would make a good math question. Hmm.. if each fork full has about 10lbs then how many fork fulls in 15 tons?

I also coated some of the older tin roofs with an aluminum coating paint. If you've ever done it you know how messy a job it is. The aluminum coating is very hard to get stirred up and you apply it with a roof brush like you would a tar coating. I tried to not get too much on me but that's just about impossible. I covered the roofs of 2 1/2 buildings as well as a good portion of my overalls and shoes. If I had done much more I'd have wound up looking like the Tin Man on the Wizard of Oz.

I need to sit down and place my seed order for next year. That's one job I look forward to. I can look through seed catalogs for hours. I pretty much know what varieties I'm going to order but I almost always get a couple of new varieties to try just to keep things interesting.
