Well, I'm starting to get the chicken house ready to move it. The plan is to move it to a new section of the garden each year so disease won't build up in the soil and the chickens will stay healthier. As with all well intentioned plans, "The devil's in the details". I have a plan how to go about moving it, but we've never actually moved a building as big as this.
I plan to raise one side and place 4x4 runners under it, then lift the other side and drag it on the runners. Sounds simple, dosen't it. Sue's a little skeptical and to tell you the truth so am I, but just a little. Like other things we've done like this i've learned, "You never know until you try."
I'll try to take some pictures of the,"Big Move" when we get it done and post them on our website whether it goes well or not. So keep us in your prayers and say one for the chickens too. If you happen to be driving by and see a big white building moving across the garden don't worry, you're not seeing things, it's just chicken moving day.
