2005-06-07 - 8:12 a.m. Let's see, first cold and late frosts, then a mini drought and high winds, now unending rain. It's no wonder the average age of a farmer in Georgia is now over 55. Not many young folks want to join the club. I sometimes think you have to be somewhat mentally unstable to subject yourself voluntarily to this year after year. We have had rain almost every day for 2 weeks straight now. It's like Seattle has moved to Atlanta. How long the tomatoes can hold up to this is anyones guess. One of the worst parts is checking the weather report. When we get into a pattern like this the forecast always seems to show a break in the weather only a couple of days away. The problem is that the next day you check the forecast the break is still 2 days away. I feel like Annie singing "tommorow. tomorrow, you're always a day away." Well, perhaps in a few days... we'll see.
